In addition to my work with individual and couples, I teach, supervise, and lead seminars. Contact me if you’d like to know more.
Workplace Seminars
I give talks to groups of corporate and nonprofit employees on the following topics:
handling anxiety
combating procrastination and perfectionism
improving communication with your partner
improving sleep habits
In each of my seminars I give jargon-free summaries of professional literature on a topic, and I teach strategies that people can put to use every day. In sponsoring workplace seminars, employers can provide a practical benefit to their employees that enhances their lives at home and at work.
Supervision for Therapists
I offer private supervision for licensed therapists who are developing their skills. I first help novice therapists with differential diagnoses and with clinical situations they find challenging. Over time, I see my role as helping the therapist to discover and embody his or her own approach and style. To that end, we explore together how theorists from different therapeutic traditions would approach the clinical work. Because it’s so critical for therapists to analyze their countertransference reactions, I focus on making the supervisory relationship safe for that exploration.
Teaching
I have taught courses and led discussion seminars on psychology and the history and practice of psychoanalysis at Princeton University, Yale University, and the National Institute for the Psychotherapies.
